Bhaavya Roy-How do you keep your creative vision fresh when shooting similar themes or outfits repeatedly?
Bhaavya Roy on Staying Creatively Inspired in Repetitive Fashion Shoots
“Repetition can either lead to burnout—or push you to discover new layers of creativity,” says Bhaavya Roy, who’s known for giving even the simplest fashion themes a fresh visual twist.
Bhaavya believes that creativity thrives on curiosity and perspective. When working with similar outfits or recurring concepts, she challenges herself to approach each shoot like it’s the first—looking for new angles, new moods, and new storytelling possibilities.
“The outfit might be the same, but the story doesn’t have to be,” she says. “Sometimes I’ll change the lighting, the setting, or even the emotion I want to capture. It’s about seeing the familiar with fresh eyes.”
💡 Bhaavya’s Creative Refresh Strategies:
-
Experiment with angles or camera techniques (e.g., wide shots vs. close-ups, motion blur, reflections)
-
Change the mood or emotion behind the shoot—one look can feel bold, romantic, or rebellious depending on direction
-
Play with styling details like hair, makeup, or accessories to reinvent the outfit’s character
-
Incorporate props or textures that add depth to the background or visual interest to the frame
-
Draw inspiration from outside fashion—cinema, art, architecture, and nature often influence her shoot direction
-
Collaborate with new creatives to bring in fresh energy and perspectives
“At the end of the day, the camera sees what you see. So if your mind is bored, your lens will be too. But if you stay curious, every shoot becomes an opportunity to explore something new.” READ MORE
